The great 2nd century ( Tābi‘ al-Tābi‘īn) scholar and juristSufyan al-Thawri says the he finds controlling himself to be the most difficult task. Did we ever for once even think this way? Let's stop complaining about others and look within.
Sufyan al-Thawri, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “I never dealt with anything more difficult on me than my own self. Sometimes it would be against me, and sometimes it would be for me.” Source: Ḥilyat al-Awliyā’ 7/5
